Hey everyone,

Figured I'd post some pictures from our last game of 'Through the Mud and Blood' divisional scale rules by Dobbies Hobbies. This is a new rule set which allows you to fight brigade scale up to full divisions scale engagements. This system relies on alternating initiative and opposed rolls to keep both players engaged instead of the common I go, you go style. These are a stream lined,  quick play rule set which allow a full divisional scale game to be played in a couple of hours. They don't get bogged down like many other world war one rule sets with complex orders or complex artillery rules.

These following pictures are from our most recent Mametz wood scenario.

Welsh troops preparing to attack Mametz wood

Welsh troops crossing the German wire

The hammerhead on the verge of falling

Inching closer to the wood

We called it here. Next turn would have seen the Welsh troops assaulting the depleted German garrison and capturing the one objective.

If anyone is interested in the rules,  the core rules and theatre supplements are available on Wargame Vault. http://www.wargamevault.com/browse/pub/12196/Dobbies-Hobbies. Will be releasing a pair of scenario books by the end of February as well. One will focus on the western front 1916 and the other will focus on the Gallipoli Peninsula.

Thanks for looking!  Happy gaming!

Nice looking game.

You might want to rethink the title of your rules as it is the same as the Too Fat Lardies rules, to avoid confusion?

Interesting looking game, are you using 15mm figures?

My thought too.

Thanks! There's a few different rule sets by this name, that's why i usually include the divisional scale bit to avoid confusion.

Yes those are 15mm models. British are a mix of PSC and peterpig, Germans are PSC and minifigs
