The Ratte
« on: January 10, 2018, 05:58:30 AM »
Ok, so this was fun. I went over to my friend's place for some miniatures gaming, with the cryptic instruction "just bring your girlie dice." We wound up playing a Weird World War II microarmor game featuring the German Ratte on one side (me) and an American armored force on the other. The rules used were "Ogre." I have never played Ogre before. It was a fun game. I think the weapon ranges should be longer, though.

Agree, and nice Ratte too. It's like that scene in 'Fury' lol

I played a game using a Ratte in the streets of Moscow using the same ruleset. Though I think Ironclad_Paul here modified them a bit; they were the same rules he used for Kaiju games (besides in general simplifying them. The Ratte game was 1 page of rules. A later one was 1/3rd the size). Ogre's great for games at that scale, though hexes make things a bit simpler.

Monstrous vehicles slowly being wittled down by a larger force are fun. :)
