That’s really coming together! :-*

How are you planning to do the roof tiles? Cornflake packets card?

This is brilliant, Paul.
That little side tower is piling sheer folly on folly.
Love it!
 :-* :-*

As for painting it: A cheap long bristled brush stabbed into it should get to all the parts other beers brushes cant reach.

Looking excellent.  :)

How about a coat of PVA before you paint it. It might help strengthen the blocks? :(

I use Mod Podge with some paint. It's a glue and sealer(varnish). Gives a nice hard coating without blocking detail.

Looking really awesome. :-*

That's what I did with the blue foam on my graveyard wall and that worked fine.

Likely a bit thicker than cereal packet, which I think is too thin.

@Malamute etc
I am trying thinned PVA on half of a small test piece I built before starting the tower. Once dry I will test paint it to see how the treated and un-treated areas compare for toughness and appearance.

And she's climbing a stairway to......Folly:D

I have now completed the steps up to the door, again in blue foam.
No handrail, nosing marking, non-slip surface, or uniform riser height.  True folly for the health & safety conscious. :D

I have also done the groundwork on the base.  Nearly there now.

Nice work on the steps - we should have included a health and safety aspect to this edition of BSC, the least safe wins of course... :D

Thank you for the nice comments.  :)

Really nice looking work. I love the different textures :-* :-*. This should paint up great!

I'm never that confident putting paint on my creations.  Strangely, I tend to prefer seeing it in its finished but unpainted state.

I have applied thinned PVA to the steps and flagstones on the folly top, which has definitely provided a tougher finish.  This is where miniatures could stand, so it made sense to do so.  I still can't decide if I will PVA the whole exterior as, although it will made it more resilient, I am concerned that the PVA will fill the small gaps between blocks and I will lose the detail as a consequence.

The roof of the side tower has been tiled.  I decided to do a mix of rectangular and round tiles to add a bit more interest.

Procreate used to cap the roof.  Details completed on the main door.

I have also made a couple of wall torches to go either side of the main door.  If I decide to add them to the model, it will be done once painting is completed.
