Carthaginian army War Elephants
« on: January 13, 2018, 10:17:09 PM »
I have been painting Victrix Carthaginians for quite some time now. Always one box each summer during our holiday. I never had any plan for it. I just really liked the models. Last year I found "To the Strongest" rule, and really liked it. I suddenly realised that I actually had enough Carthaginians and Spaniards to plan with. The Carthaginians had to take on my old Galic army, as I had no Republican Romans at the time. Now I NEEDED elephants, but I wanted the Victirx ones, which they had promised for some time. Finally just before Christmas they came out, and they were really worth the wait.

I painted them using the transfers by LBMS, and as with the shield transfers they look smashing (in my humble view).

Hope you like them!

Cheers
Erik

Great work Erik :-*

I see you moved the shields a bit upwards so that the tower design could be properly seen - I think I'll move mine the same way.

Great work, happy to see posts of these fairly new kits so quickly.
There seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today...turn two points to port.

Very nice! What size base do you have them on?

They look awesome. The bases look really nice.

But now you have to show us the rest of your Carthaginian army.

Thank you for all the nice comments.

Its true I moved the shiels up a bit. The transfer does have room for something there, but not the shield. Its still to big and would cover the nice Pictures. I think these transfers are way to fine to just cover up with a shield.

The elephant is mounted on a 6X8 cm base. Most of my infantry is mounted on 6x4, so it matches them.

I will post some Pictures of more of my carthaginian stuff soon.

Erik
