Bombed out cityscape board

For years I have had a feeling that I need to have a completely bombed out city board. And now I have finally started on building one. Or rather I have started the first test piece. It is made of scrap mdf offcuts. To make it a bombed out tangle there is no plan. I just started gluing. The only plan is I will end up with at least four terrain boards. I’m thinking it could be used for skirmish games in most modern city centers. From Grozny, Mogadishu or Baghdad.

Looks a very promising start.

One suggestion, perhaps for the other boards, is to try some thicker walls, perhaps add some foamboard to the MDF (for an example see what Lardy Rich has done with his Stalingrad build)

Yes definitely. The walls are to thin. I am following Larry Rich’s thread and taking notes. This is a trial piece where I intend to try out different things and colors.

Pin another part to the walls to get it bigger. It looks like a good start, so go on. It will be superb at the end, I think.
