Nice game you had there! It is an unfortunate moment when a commander is diced as dithering/incapable...
Then, if the opponent has excellent dice, one may guess the results  :)
I wish you have many more exciting games! Cheers!

That's a really nice looking, tidy game with great looking figures.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Good report - I like the personal nature of the story.  How did you like the rules and what made you (or your game partners) choose them in the first place?
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

We were playing British Grenadier the first time some years ago. Black Powder wasn't invented at that time.
My fellow Sven bought the rules on a wargame show in Germany and we gave the ruleset a try.
We like the rules. They are not fast playing but somehow they worked so, that they feel right.
It's realy difficult to explain. But I think the secret is that we are three players, who like the system, and so we play it again and again. Meanwhile we know the game mechanisms and so it's always great to game with Svens miniatures on his great gaming table.
