Bored of those magicians in RPG (and Frostgrave)? A closed door? Shazam! it's open. A hole in the ground? Shazam! teleportation. A monster in sight? Shazam! Ball of fire. Washing the dishes? Shazam! plate and cups broken.
Can you believe that? an old and deserted city full of gold, valuable things, and only a bunch of sigilist to explore it?
No! It's a task for greedy and avaricious merchants! Let those trade specialists find the loot, then sell it for an indecent amount of gold pieces to those stupid magicians.
Merchants are as greedy as they are weak. They cannot survive in the ruined city and must hire bodyguards. They cannot fight - only defend themselves in last resort. And scream, so every living (
and dead) soul can come to the rescue. They cannot escalate or enter buildings, but only walk in the streets. They cannot carry treasure with their hands, they must buy wheelbarrow, pack animals or cart.
Merchant don't have apprentice, they have an accountant or a secretary to help them gain more gold, or even hire enemy soldiers.
Enemy soldiers cannot attack the merchant, but can rob him.
Welcome to.... ....Frost Trade, a home brewed add-on. Available on my blog on the "Beer and Pretzel" menu. Plays the same as Frostgrave, but harder. Must always keep one or two bodyguard in the merchant's vicinity. Too easy? let your guard explore as far as they can - and let the merchant scream. And scream again, and again.
And now, for the eye candy:
The Feldsatd suburb, home of rats, wolves and other despicable things
Vestibule, the for now poor merchant (blue clothes), and his bodyguards.
Bodyguards have a bad time, securing the merchant's path - and searching for loot.
Inhabitants of the place don't like visitors, and aren't of good conversation. A great trading day.
Cheers
