Hostage raid, a Dux Britanniarum campaign game
« on: February 04, 2018, 12:53:11 PM »
Managed to get a game in in our Dux campaign the past friday, and type down a few words about it on my little corner of the internet

The third struggle for survival, as they are out to take my noble hostage...

Agreed.  Lovely looking game and a nice AAR.

Great AAR. Always love to see Dux Brit get more exposure. Hopefully with Mike Whataker's Dux Compendium coming out soon, it will relight some fires.

Whilst anxiously awaiting Mike's Compendium and the upcoming and nearly completed Kingdom of Soissons campaign, I can assure you that Dux B is far from dead in these regions. And that is putting it very mildly. ;D

This is the third multi- player campaign we're playing now and combined with the two previous ones, the 561st raid . All this over a period of slightly over three years in RL. And that's not counting the battles of which we had something like 25-30.

No battles yet in this campaign,  but as the GM I feel there's something stirring. If it wasn't for those pesky Pict, Scotti and Irish raiders attacking anything with a pulse,  I'm sure one of the factions would already have invaded a neighbouring province. The two Saxon players too are building up their strength and becoming restless.

I think I can safely say that DuxB is one of the very best game- systems we ever played,  and obviously extremely popular with our members. Long may it live!
Panic, Chaos and Disorder. My job here is done

Willie, I'll be following this campaign closely. I haven't heard back from Rich regarding the Soissons supplement, but I'm working on potentially expanding it even further to include Alamanni, Burgundians, Armoricans, and Saxons. I'm currently reading the Winter King series, so I'm really just diving into the period on all fronts.
