I was there, the first and my favourite show of the year.

I must admit it felt very busy, lots of people, fewer walk ways and narrower thoroughfares than I remember which lent it an uncomfortable, claustrophobic feel. I still enjoyed myself although due to the volume of people I feel like I walked around a lot but didn’t see all that much (except where I made an effort to). It’s good it’s attracting the varied crowds but I think they need managing better next year.

The games were great and there was a good variety of traders. The tournament upstairs seemed very lacklustre something I commented on last year and the bring and buy seemed intense throughout.

I still managed to spend £50 though so I can’t complain.

Despite the crowds there was less BO and bangs bag people which was refreshing (quite literally) and despite the two evacuations(!?) there wasn’t too much cajoling either.

All in all a reasonable day out.

I arrived a lot earlier than I usually do thanks to having the day off work, and immediately realised why I normally don't time my arrival until after lunch. It was almost impossible to move around or see anything, and the amount of rucksack wearers seemed to have reached the limit to be honest. Do folk really need to walk around wearing those things? The rest of us mere mortals manage with our two hands and some carrier bags. I lost count of the number times I was barged or bumped with the things, and only one person had the decency to apologise. About time they were banned IMO, especially as the gangways were so full.
Anyway whinge over. Apart from that it seemed ok but there was a distinct lack of demo games I thought compared with other years, or is it just my memory playing tricks? Otherwise it was an okay day out, but not as good as I remember other years have been, but then I arrived later back then when the ravening horde had largely evaporated.
