I remember one of those "Jack The Ripper Walks" several years ago, someone warned: "Watch out for the SLIME in the street", and other someone promptly replied: "Thanks, I got distracted watching the LIME on the HOUSE!"  lol

Thanks again, apart from Mark, who can get his coat  ;D

Finished the setts for this board and will hopefully carry on with the pavements tomorrow. The little round disc is a placeholder for a manhole cover which will be lasered acrylic.  The buildings on the left and in the back are only there to give an idea of the cramped feeling I'm going for. The discussion over this has led to having removable roofs, which isn't a problem on the lasered buildings bu the scratch built ones will need some remedial work.

Plenty more to go and I do need to loo at the layout for other boards.
cheers

James

Great start mate! Buildings are up to your usual high standard, but the paving is great! :o Could you not cast the roads as well as the mini-bases to save a bit of time?

This looks very impressive. :-*

Please can you show a close up of the tool you used to make the cobbles?

Cheers fellas  :)

Could've done but I want each tile to be individual and there's a good chance the road widths won't be the same across multiple boards (I'm also to impatient to wait for the process as I wanted to crack on with it whist the enthusiasm was still there  ;) ).

Please can you show a close up of the tool you used to make the cobbles?

Of course. Very simple squashed brass tube that's been sanded a bit.

I meant to ask as well...why are you using foam for the pavements? Would your usual lasered pvc not be better?

Thank you  :)

Pleasure  :)

I can get a lot more variation in the relief using the foam. Indenting rocks, knuckles, scraps of blue foam etc and I'll probably do some sort of ramp on at least one of the boards and this stuff will fit to the contours quite nicely  :)

Ditto, always learn a lot here.
I've also made some 25mm bases and these will be moulded and cast and put on the website in a week or so.

and those will be useful  :)

How many boards are needed for a proper game?

Thanks chaps  :)

Hoping only four to make a 2x2 but we know how these things go  lol

Got some quick colour tests done for the bits done so far. Relatively happy with them although I think the London stock might need some more work.

Obviously there’s still a lot of details and detritus to add but the rugby’s on so I’m distracted  :)
