Well, it’s been decided that I’ll be putting on a Limehouse participation game for next years Salute (it was decided for me  lol). The basic layout is sorted and I’ll do a decent sketch of it soon enough but here is a basic start.

The idea is to have a narrow section of river at one end and a viaduct at the other with plenty of buildings and ‘stuff’ in between. They are limiting the tables sizes for trader games next year to 6x4/6x5 which means I’ll be able to a decently detailed board in time.

First off is planning the river edge with wharves, part of a bridge and a slipway. There should be plenty of ins and outs to draw the eye and as many levels as possible (which won’t be that many unfortunately).

The bridge is a mock up but the stanchions will be the ones I’ll be using and the frontage will hopefully just sit up against the boards relatively seamlessly. The buildings aren’t the ones that will be there in the final version but they will be on the board (somewhere).

There won’t be much else done on this for a little while, I just had to get a bit done tonight whilst the muse whacked me round the head  lol

It is coming out very nice! I'm sure the viaduct part of the table will be a catch-eye!

Looking fantastic. Are you going to plaster the walls with flyposters for music hall shows and penny dreadfuls like they did on Ripper Street?

Just not too sure about the floating bathtub... looks very playable, but possibly a little comical alongside what I’m sure will be a wonderfully realistic looking set of wharves and buildings?

Will the lentil cobblestones be making a reappearance?  :)

Plenty of posters, yes. The ‘bathtub’ (gee, thanks  ::) lol)  is from the Mars project and won’t bethere in the day. It’s the only boat I have at the moment. I have the plans for a river barge and a coal barge and will endeavour to have realistic shipping there instead.

Possible lentils but will mainly be EPS foam setts  :)

That’s looking great mate! Loving the bridge!  :-*

What about doing the river ar low tide? Most of it could be mud that characters could go through at a reduced pace? You could have a boat shored up on its side too.

Thought about that and it’s a lot more work. There’s going to be a slipway at the other end of the river section and I’d like not to have it sticking out for a couple of feet  lol

And some Ghostbusters t-shirts for your players to wear, of course....
