A riot of colour!

Hats off to Mr. Bickley. I was going through the broken mess that is the Colonial Adventures list of battle reports the other day and noticed just how many of them were by Mr. B (and unlike mine, the pictures on his are still working). I know you sometimes talk of giving up on LAF, but it will be a duller place if you ever do. Your work is valued, even if sometimes we forget to post a reply saying so.

Thanks Plynkes and others of course. I get easily discouraged as an average painter and value feedback like that. My painting skills are moderate really, but I am reinvigorated by this Italian Wars project, the figures are a joy and there are no uniforms to worry over!

Warlord Games has some nice figures for the period, specially civilians for the village that is going to be pillaged by your troops:

An idea of what the force may look like on the table using figures from different manufacturers: pike block from TAG; handgunners from Front Rank; command figures from Casting Room Miniatures.

It's all coming together rather well Dave.   :)

I understand your frustration with the side-shootin' mtd crossbows. There really is no reason why they can't have been posed shooting forwards for 'wargames purposes', even if they are possibly depicted in a 'realistic' fashion for a quicker getaway.

I really like the basing of your figures.
Large stands look cool.
I have been thinking of doing that in ancients
using To the Strongest rules.

The latest base of figures to join the Italian Wars collection. Figures by TAG, base by Warbases and flags by Pete’s Flags ~

Very nice! I recently got those same Foundry mantlets for my artillery, I'm looking forward to painting them up. Where are the buckets and other equipment from, TAG?
