This project is building up nicely. Love the group shot :)

Lovely! Is there to be more, for a big old mass-battle, or is this to be a more skirmishy sort of affair?
Neil Thomas’s rules. Each base a unit. I have six more bases to go currently when I finish the crossbowmen im working on.

Like the crossbowmen very much, David  :)

On the whole though, I'm not quite sold on the sculpting for this TAG range. I think they're still being done by Nick Collier, who used to be one of my favourite sculptors when he produced those brilliant ECW ranges for Bicorne and Renegade, and some of his earlier work for TAG's renaissance range. But there's something about some of these more recent figures (not all) that just doesn't look quite right to me... The heads are a bit too big, the legs a wee bit bandy, the poses a bit wooden... Can't quite put my finger on it.

Anyway, it doesn't detract from your painting and impressively rapid progress with the army. Just an eye of the beholder thing I guess...  :)

Andrew Taylor of Antediluvian Miniatures kindly provided me with the figure to use as the Pope in my Italian Wars collection. He is from their latest character set sculpted by Matt ~

There is a little more about him over on my blog of course.

Great project David!
Can you please let me know what range the man of god in the red robe is from? The pope is Antediluvian, the one with the book seems to be Perry miniatures but I can not find the one with the red robe.

Many thanks!

From the neck down he is by Perry Minis, same set as the priest with Bible and two mounted clerics, from the neck up he is unique, my head sculpted by my son Matt & cast by Trevor Dixon.

Two bases of Wargames Foundry Gendarmes have joined the cause. Here is one of them ~

More to see and read about on my blog for those with more than a passing interest.
