Giant Swamp / River hag W.I.P Updated :)
« on: February 19, 2018, 02:43:29 PM »
Just received these Work in progress shots from one of our sculptors.

its 11cm tall and its meant to be some sort of Giant River/ swamp hag or forest walker. ( but thats still to be decided ;) )

If this piece proves popular it could become of our first releases :)

I'm told there's still the hands  and other detail to be added.
What do you think so far?

Hi Everyone,
Here's a few more W.I.P in from the sculptor, more detail has been added :)

What do you think?
(there doesn't seem to be much interest in this piece, so it might be put to one side and I'll get him to start on the next design)

It's not my sort of thing but I do like the sculpting and I recognise the style. He used to post here quite a lot but I haven't seen his work for a while  :)
cheers

Thanks.
Not sure. I think he give up for a while, but is back sculpting again.
We should have more work from a few different sculptors to show soon, as long as the fund don't run out  :(

I feel the face doesn't quite suit the body stylewise. It might be a good thing to forget the "hag" idea and make it more into a swamp thing. The shells are a bit strange for a swamp but not a dealbreaker...

Agreed about the face, doesn't quite work for me. I do like the body and the concept though!

Thanks for the feedback.

I sort of agree about the face, I'll try and have a word with him and see if wants to change it.

Maybe it's a shore monster made from mainly driftwood?

Sounds good, like a Shore golem or salt marsh monster?

Just been talking to the sculptor and he's wiling to alter the face :)

He suggested  A Whale type skull, squid face or even a old man looking green man type face.

any thoughts on type?

She is a BEAUTY in her own fashion. The piece is a WONDERFULLY imaginative, BEAUTIFULLY crafted & FANTASTICALLY detailed creation. Altering the face would be almost sacrilegious...that's my two cents on the subject.

I like the second skull photo. Looks different enough not to be instantly recognised (unless you're a marine biologist  lol ).

Hi,
Bit of bad news,  we will not be producing this piece under Stickman miniatures as one of our first releases.
The original sculptor has decided to hang onto it for a while do some more work to it.

Hopefully he will let us/ you know what his plans are when its completed.

Thanks
John

Who is sculpting it, by the way?
