"28mm Early Desert Panzers"
« on: March 01, 2018, 05:20:29 PM »

https://yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk/2018/03/28mm-panzers-in-desert.html

In the past my WW2 Desert collection has been confined to the forces of Britain and Italy, thought it was about time I did some DAK recruitment !

Blitzkrieg Miniatures tanks and Perrys crew, I tried out some Mission Models paint along with some AK Interactive Africa Dust Effects in a rare attempt by me at some light weathering.

I even manage to fit in a moan about Airbrushes and Blitzkrieg delivery times, what more could you want.

The nearest I,m going to get in gaming the Desert War will be Sam Mustafa’s Rommel, which I suspect will be as near a board game as makes no difference. But it dos,nt stop me admiring the work you,re doing on these and previous posts . Very realistic modelling and great photography, well done .

Love the new tanks.
My favorite period of the war.
Have been doing some 15mm stuff
for the period, but it on the back burner.

Nice stuff!

I’m an airbrush fan; I guess it’s just time in to get it down to a science  ;)

Cheers Everyone,

Grant, how quick can you change over colours ? That seems to be the stumbling block for me, it was all right doing 6 tanks at a time but for smaller batches it just does seem worth it when I can clean a brush and move to another colour in a couple of seconds.

I use Iwata Airbrush Cleaner (I have a 2 gallon bottle!) - two airbrush cups at full pressure and I switch colours.
It’s only at the end of a session that I do a full strip and clean.
