Timurids 28mm (From Gripping Beast) (Updt April 25)
« on: March 04, 2018, 10:48:55 AM »
Hi !

My 2 first Timurids

For the painting , i took inspiration from Mikhael Gorelik drawings ...

I have 3 armies to paint : one Timurid (Gripping Beast) , one Jagataï (Mongols from GB) and one Jalayirid / Muzzafarid (Gripping Beast , Footsore , Black tree Design)

For some shields i use LBM transfers (Timurides , Medieval russians , and Sassanids)

I melt some Medieval Russians to the Timurids and Jagataïs cavalry ...

It will be a long labor of love ... (I will make buildings and terrains too)

(Note that i slightly modified the horses)

Admirable endeavour! I can't say that I would have the stamina -and patience!- necessary to paint those patterns. Yours are truly great.

For the horses , its a long & complex painting work , but for the riders and shields , it's quickest !

Note that not all the horses are so heavily armoured , and there is some of these wich are not armoured at all , for exemple for the Jagataïs one third of the horses are not armoured ... For the Timurids yes a lot of horses are armoured .

Thanks Antonio !

That barding is wonderful but I can see that it must have taken a fair time to get it right.   :-* :-*

I think you are very brave taking on 3 armies.  :o :o

However I am looking forward to a steady stream of gorgeous eye candy.  :D :D
