He's the leader of a new boxed set for Dead Man's Hand, 'Plains Indians'. They represent the more conservative tribes who tend to wear more traditional garb and use traditional weaponry.

The actual model allows you to paint it with as little or as much detail as you want really, I just sort of went to town with the beads (and it heralded an admission of the slow decline of my eyesight since I had to use an magnifying lamp for the really small stuff) so he took ages. Turned out nice though, so it was time well spent.

'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

When is the set due out?

I honestly don't know. I think Firestorm Games already have it on their site to order, but this may be a pre-order state of affairs. It could be they're simply waiting for this model to get to them, so they can then take the requisite photos, send them to the printers and then get the boxes made so they can sell the sets.

It's a source of much pride to me that more than a couple of their boxed sets feature the 'leader' model on the front, painted by moi.

You have every reason to be proud. Well done that man, now if you could see your way clear to painting a few hundred more, I might have enough for my (long desired) Battle of the Little Big Horn.
