IX. panzer... in 1:56 scale
« on: March 04, 2018, 10:32:22 PM »
Well... just one tank from IX. panzer (it is the formation I usually play in FOW)... Last year I bought the starter set for the new edition of BA and I am still painting it. This Pz.IV is not from that set, but it is still from Warlord Games. It is resin, there are some additional parts from other manufacturers and overall... I am pleased how it turned out, especially as I was painting in smaller scale for several years...

Oh, and sorry for the lower quality of the pictures, they were made by the phone... I saw the quality of photos on other threads on this forum and I promise I will improve...  :)

Nice job, the photographs look fine.

Heartily seconded on both counts! Looking forward to more pics of this project!

Both the model and the photographs look fine. I like the subdued camouflage tones and the foliage is rather convincing (could do with a bit more for my taste).

As a suggestion, maybe get a bigger backdrop sheet? That corner on the right is a bit distracting from the overall effect, but that's being nitpicky. Wouldn't mind seeing more from that collection/army!

Love the workhorse of the panzers. Nicely done with the colour combo.
Best wishes,
Helen

Thank you all for your kind words...

Regarding the model, I did not intend to have foliage on it, but assembling the model I've noticed that my Pz.IV was missing a headlight. Rather than looking for a replacement or casting it, I've decided to hide this..ahem..."imperfection".

Here is another from this project - SdKfZ 251/10, also from Warlord Games, from their BA Starter set

I am currently working on German Heer Infantry, but I intend to paint US Para also (I already bought quite a lot of them!) as I want to give a Bolt Action demo game at my local gaming club...

Nice work on both vehicles!. The only tiny criticism I would make is that the box, wheel and jerrycan on the engine deck of the panzer are suffering from the "magical atttachment syndrome", they would surely fall off as soon as the tank moved.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

I like these very much. Great job  8)

If I may make one constructive criticism/ suggestion, it would be that those red identification numbers appear extremely bold and bright and perhaps stand out just a bit too much? Especially on the panzer.  Perhaps a light application of a bit more mud, dust or a dirt wash over them would tone them down just a little bit more and add further to the realism of the whole look.
Or it may be that you just like them like that, in which case, ignore me  :)

Very tidy - nice work.
Particularly like the 251 with a nice soft pallette.
