Afghans & Indians
« on: March 10, 2018, 10:30:10 PM »
Hello All,
It's been a long time since I've last posted.
Currently I'm working on a "few" projects and one that is a key focus is a generic Indian army.
With the recent Foundry promotion I picked a long admired range with the Noble & tribal Indians. I would like to build an army that cover a plethora of 18th & 19th Indian armies from Mughul, Sikh, Mutiny, etc....
I have seen some old Wargame Illustrated adverts where the Indian troops look like 10 figures on a 60x80 base. My question is to bulk up units and save some $$$ would the Perry Afghan tribal swords & jezzails figures blend okay?

I think you’ll find that the Perry’s Afghans will blend OK with the Foundry Indian sword/spearmen, matchlockmen, NW tribesmen and also the DA Baluchis.

Look at the Studio Miniatures and Artizan Design ranges as well.

Thank you all for your replies and suggestions.
I'll pick up the Perry's figures as they work out cheaper due to the removal of VAT & free shipping for a decent order.
Once I get a few more troops painted up I'll post them.

Old Glory Afghans are cheap, and tend to be nice figures (in relation to other OG lines).  Available from US and UK suppliers, generally for a good price.
