Old School Rogue Trader Imperial Assassin
« on: March 11, 2018, 10:17:47 AM »
So this week I have been working on something a little bit more clandestine for my Rogue Trader Oldhammer project!

I have painted up the 1989 Imperial Assassin ...

This guy is the venerabl ancestor of the Officio Assassinorum models/temples that came in 1996 and were later redone in Execution Force a couple of years back.

The sculpt is very reminiscent of the time and whilst it is admittedly a little crude I found it a pleasure to paint.

I have a few more Imperial Agents from the 1980s in my bitz box that might receive a lick of paint soon!

There’s more photos on my blog at: https://classicastartes.blogspot.co.uk/2018/03/so-to-keep-with-last-weeks-oldhammer.html?m=0

Cheers mate! Yeah the backs an interesting sculpt; I particularly like the crude but fun skeletal look to his backpack

If I had one I think I’d be tempted to change to gun to something a little smaller.

Brilliant!
I love this figure and it is only one of two that I kept from my old IG army (the other being the converted commander) but I do not think my paintwork would stand up to being shown at that size.

Oh, tidy.  8)

Really like your take on this, the blue has come out lovely.

I have one recently stripped for my planned RT Inquisition warband, but after seeing this it might be shuffling its way back to the end of the queue....

Thanks guys! He was a joy to paint. It was one of those models where it pretty much painted itself; I just happened to be holding the paint brush!

He needs a good meal inside him.

I like this mini and you've done a good job. From my entry into the hobby in 1993/4 until the 1996 range this bloke was THE assassin on the rare occasion it was used in a WD battle report. I'm not sure if he was ever for sale in my local GW, with much of the RT era phased out and not replaced for a very long time. Chaos virtually ceased to exist until their first codex - imagine GW doing that to a staple range now.

Great work. I've always loved this figure, but for some reason, it's always eluded me. You've certainly done it justice and I have to echo the remarks about the blue; it's different but really nice, and I like it a lot.

One of these days I must get a bit more serious about getting my hands on one...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Yeah I really like the blue; I did it on a whim but I’m really pleased with it!
