they look fantastic. I guess this is some kind of cloth. Looks very convincing. I wouldn't try it for a 15mm flag ;)

For the moment, we presume that the flag material is textured and the minis represent WSS French? They come out nice!

I picked up a couple of White Handkerchiefs at a local market for £1 each . It’s been a long time aim of mine to make the flags from material,  and when I spotted the hankies I thought that the weave was suitable.  Interestingly,  I recently printed out a couple of flags using a linen based paper so I,ll put up pics of both for comparison.  These flags are French Louis XIV and XV period .

The gentleman who makes flags for Alex of Front Rank display model prints his flags on cloth/linen.
They are very effective .

Like the idea of printing on linen style paper Belisarius. Might be a bit excessive for my 15mm ACW but when I do more 28mm stuff I may give it a go.
