Lovely. Understated, too, which makes things really meet the aesthetic

Lovely job on the herald - apologies if you’ve answered it elsewhere, but where are your standards from? Can recognise most pieces but not the banners...or are they scratchbuilt?

Thanks very much all. Really appreciate the kind words! Very motivating :)

Good question - from memory they're all Fireforge. Selianin's banner is actually a Fireforge infantry pike with the banner from Fireforge's Living Dead Knights mounted sideways (or upside down depending on your point of view). Seems to have worked OK.

This is truly a great thread to follow, the models and story are  very inspirational. Seeing the name Cimbri surfacing was fun,, as I spend many summers in the the real life village, and grew to adulthood in its harbour.
Spending the autumn storms in that town, I can really get the feel of the inspiration of your army. Keep up the work you do. :)

Thanks! Yes I wondered if anyone would get the reference :) I really like that it's apparent. Cheers for the kind words!

Managed to get a mounted knight painted up tonight - probably the one I'm least pleased with pose-wise, but hopefully the rest will be more pleasing:

" ... the seventh wave of Thrall stumbled and climbed over the slippery, piled dead and Mazzarin saw The Watcher with them and at last knew the number of his days."

Great model and excellent painting. The horses from that set look suitably chunky!

Hot on the heels of the cavalry, I finally found a ballista I like - from Zombicide: Black Plague. Checked out other manufacturers but they mostly lacked the size and weight I wanted my siege artillery to have. After playing For Honor and seeing its super-sized siege artillery, I wanted something that fit a similar aesthetic - big and brutal.

Oh yes, and I made a unit card for Kings of War that a friend was kind enough to turn into a laminated final product. I've blurred out most of the essential rules to keep it board friendly:

Love it! It's not easy finding nice siege of the non-black powder variety-
