Great stuff  8) 8)

Very nice. The flavour texts read very much like the ones from Myth, which is very fitting indeed.

Thanks guys! Glad the Myth homage is well received :)

Another completion for the Order:

" ... the seventh wave of Thrall stumbled and climbed over the slippery, piled dead and Mazzarin saw The Watcher with them and at last knew the number of his days."

Painted my first dwarf. I can call myself a proper fantasy gamer now, right...? Thought I'd experiment a bit with how I want the dwarves to be represented in the world of the Black Order.

That dwarf's great - a superbly atmospheric paintjob.

Thanks chaps! You may have seen Gymir before - didn't realise I'd posted him already. He's been rebased on a 40mm base since then however. Both he and Magnir are indeed Scibor ogres :)

Some terrain next - for Kings of War, KoW: Vanguard and anything else - the village graveyard at Crow's Peak:

The dead are restless at Crow's Peak...

Some stunning additions to the project since I last travelled these paths.
The limited palette looks wonderful and really adds a serious consistency to the thing as a whole.
Top brushwork and conversions.

Thanks very much indeed guys - really means a lot to hear positive feedback.

Something a little different - for a while now I've been in the process of moving my Black Order army from the Brotherhood list over to the Varangur list (in Kings of War), in anticipation that the Northern Alliance list - their eventual destination - will be somewhat similar to the Varangur. Been having a lot of fun along the way re-inventing certain things I couldn't really do under the Brotherhood list. One of those things was an idea for a unit of knights somewhere between traditional hedge-knights and rangers in plate armour, fighting on foot, as a complement to the scouts and rangers an Order might employ in its vanguard.

I figured a unit of knights in stripped-down half-plate in heavy winter gear would both look pretty cool and also serve my fluff well - as the depleted Black Order marches north to join the Northern Alliance it makes sense they'd move away from traditional modes of combat into guerilla warfare and smaller, more freeform units combining a ranger's skills with a knight's weaponry. So the Knights-Warden were born. I'm using them as Fallen, on the grounds that the Nimble and Iron Resolve rules help to reflect their dual nature as scouts and more traditional warriors. Let's see if they're any good in game :)
