I echo the other posters' comments - what an amazing thread! I particularly like the Deepwood tree monsters, but I love the way everything on here fits together so well, the style ties it all together so it is clear it all inhabits the same (dark) world. I also think it is great that all these fantastic figures are clearly getting plenty of game time!

Thanks chaps! Sadly not much game time right now as it's back to semi-lockdown for us.

Plan is to use the time ahead (who knows - weeks, months, half a year or more?) to just go through the backlog and get lots of painting done. Expect lots of random completions! For now here's some new terrain - this will see use in KoW, Vanguard, RoSD, Frostgrave etc.

Couldn’t agree more with this sentiment  :)

Love the new bits of scenery.

Apologies, I’m sure you’ve answered this before, but I couldn’t find the answer...what software do you use to create the maps etc?

Thank you both! Really appreciate it chaps. :)

Akula - the maps are made with Inkarnate. (www.inkarnate.com). I do use the yearly paid version but get my money's worth out of it (or do when we're not under lockdown...). However, the free version is plenty good enough. Give it a try, I'd love to see what you come up with - it's really intuitive.

Another completion tonight: a mounted version of the Black Order's standard bearer.

Thanks the link, I’ll be sure to have a good look at it.

Re:your new addition, the foot version was pretty intimidating, but he looks even meaner without the helm - a fan as always of your brushwork and choice of palette.

Cheers guys :)

Couple WIPs, and a completion! First is the elephant in the room, for whom I have none other than our own AKULA to thank/blame - I bought my first Iron Gate Scenery trebuchet some months ago and today finished it. And the verdict?

I'm going to need at least two more. Thanks for nothing, Akula...  ;)

In other news, I've started on a third Deepwood Witch. These girls ritually rip out their own eyes upon initiation into their cult and practice scarification of the flesh - so I figured a witch holding a role similar to a Master of Ceremonies would actually cover most of her flesh with furs, robes and leathers. So far, I'm pretty pleased with her; this is my first time using the texture plates from Green Stuff World and I'm really enjoying them.

I also tried my hand at press moulding using ooyumaru. This failed, but I think I can use the helmet on a casualty who's had his brains scattered:

Sorry mate  lol

Love the paint job, and the base really suits it...it’s a beast of a model.

Nice work on the witch as well...I must check out those texture plates...funnily enough, was on their website this week, but I sense another visit in the near future
