Kickstarter - GRAVETIDES is LIVE!
« on: March 18, 2018, 08:00:55 PM »

GRAVETIDES, an Undead Fleet for Naval Fantasy Wargaming Kickstarter launches on the 23rd of March !!

We are two Italian brothers with a passion for gaming and modelling, and we’ve finally decided to do our very own Kickstarter, hoping to find some support to further develop the projects we have been working on for a long time.

Among all the games we have played in the past, we have a soft spot for naval wargaming played with fantasy warships with strange powers, that allow to field bizarre and greatly characterized vessel models.

Our Kickstarter offers an undead naval fleet composed by resin hand sculpted models, that strive to recapture the look and the feeling of the  miniatures of the last two decades of the past century, that in our minds remains the ‘golden age’ of tabletop wargaming, without renouncing to an original touch.

Even if our fleet can be used with any in-print and out-of-print fantasy naval rules, they are also   part of our Gravetides project, our own naval rules still in development, where the classic fantasy races and different undead reigns wage war among each other, and against a sorcerous parasite from another plane of existence, in a dying world were naval battles, due to the relentless rising of the seas level, are more and more prevalent.

If this Kickstarter is a success, we plan to create more fleets, and actually try to publish (in a form or another) the Gravetides core rules.

The Kickstarter will go live on the 23rd of March.

Find the Gravetides Facebook page at:

Thanks for any help in spreading the word !

Hi again !

For people without Facebook, I've just created a shared photo album with painted and unpainted images of the miniatures from the Gravetides fleet:

The advance of the undead fleet is forewarned by the ominous gigantic shape of the Drifting Mausoleum, a sight that can stop the heart of even the most seasoned sailors, as the motionless sails of the derelict Corpseships act as eerie mementos of ships sunk long ago along with their drowned crews.

Organic looking Bonerammers float silently in ordinate squadrons, as the necromantic magic that has created these vessels from ancient dead bones still fuels their motion.

The accompanying Dreadships are more mundane but nonetheless a lethal threat, as their huge catapults manned by living corpses, are capable of crippling even the most powerful warships with a single hit.

The GRAVETIDES Kickstarter for an undead fleet for naval fantasy wargaming is now live.

The Kickstarer offers an undead fleet to be used with any in-print or out-of-print rules, composed by and admiral warship, a couple of indipendent vessels and two squadrons, each with a different kind of support ship.

Add-ons of single ships or squadrons are possible, and a couple of Flying Monsters models are unlockable during the course of the campaign.

The models offered are all carefully handcrafted like the old school miniatures whose memory they seek to recall, and will be finely cast in gray resin by a professional printer.

If this Kickstarter is a success, we plan to develop further our Gravetides project, creating more fleets, and actually try to publish (in a form or another) our core rules, now in advanced development.

Among the fleets we’re thinking about, besides the classical Dwarfs, Elves and Orcs, are the vessels of Frostbare, a nation of undead from the northern ice plains, the warships of the quadrumvirate of the alchemical Liches, and the vampire realm of the degenerate Blood Sycophants.

Hi everybody!

We've at the first half of our journey, and thanks to the generosity and attention of our backers we've almost reached our goal !

Keep spreading the word, and persuading (without recurring to disreputable means  ;)), everybody who could be interested in our fleet and in naval fantasy wargaming in general, that being a niche genre may not be so widely known to the community.

Meanwhile, work on the Flying Monsters proceeds, as the DracoMort and the Revenant gain details.

These models will continue to be worked on over the week end during our stay at the Modena Play gaming fair .

After eating some tortellini, come to see our fleet and some live sculpting at the Legends Lounge stand in Hall B.

Have a nice weekend !

Hi !

here are some photos of the WIP on the Revenant and the DracoMort, the two flying monsters of our undead naval fleet.

We're finally into the last week of our Kickstarter campaign, and we've decided, looking at the evolution on the sculpting of these add-on and the progress of the campaign, to unlock the two models, as an acknowledgment to our backers, because we’re far from reaching our optimistic unlock goals, and because we’re confident to have them ready to be shipped with the rest of the fleet in the timeframe set for the project.

Feel free to add them to your pledges!

Again, the campaign is his very last days and very very near to its final goal, help us making it !

Sorry to exhume such an old thread, but we need your help  :)

Following the Kickstarter for our undead fantasy fleet, in the last few months we have presented on our site (www.gravetides.com) and on our Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/ResInAere/) concept sketches and background for eight warships belonging to the battle fleets of the Vampire Red Realms and to the Nadvidian Realm of the Frost Dead, just two of the many domains and races of GRAVETIDES, the grim fantasy world we are developing and that will be the backdrop of our future proposals.

It took more time than we would have liked, but Real Life™ did its best to prevent us from following the schedule we had in mind.

All the above notwithstanding we are now ready to ask for your help in deciding which of the two war fleets will be the first to see the light as actual models.

Your response will help us not only to choose which warships will challenge our digital sculpting skills but also to have a measure of the general interest around our little project and its possible  developments.

The background of many more war fleets has already been written and the GRAVETIDES rules have been subjected to a lot of changes and their continuous reworking seems to have found an actual end (would you like to read a beta?).

When the new fleet will be sculpted to a satisfactory standard we’d like to launch a new Kickstarter for its release hoping it will be a good success as it was for our first offering (thank you all again for that!).

Progresses will be reported on our pages.

If you're interested in our work, please vote on our site (www.gravetides.com) or on our Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/ResInAere/) for your ‘favorite’ war fleet choosing between the terrifying warships of the sadistic Blood Sycophants vampires or the unnaturally freezing coldness of the fleet of the Nadvidian Frost Dead.

We’ll let this pool run for while and when the trend will be clear we will know which will be the next GRAVETIDES war fleet to be sculpted.

As always, comments and suggestions are heartily welcome.

Help us create a new world!
