Don's Pacific
« on: March 22, 2018, 04:24:05 PM »
Okay, in one week I have an appointment for a small game at my local toy shop.
I searched through my collection and found some WW2-Japanese....oh yeah....:)

So I decided to try to build a little comical Tarawa in one week. I have 40 Japanese, one landing craft, a little tractor, a tower and 10 Marines.
What I am missing is an Island....8)

So I scraped some styrodur and got my paints out....;)

Added some sand for more definition.....

Added some cheap paint...:)

And last dry brushed and put some static gras on it.
Need to paint all the small stuff for the island...and of cause more marines.....;)

So, not bad for day onee, 6 to come....;)

Cheers,
Don

Very nice, though that sea does not look very realistic ^__^

Okay, builded a little hill, to get at least some elevation for the island.

With a little room to fight in...

...stay tuned....;)
Cheers,
Don

Just before easter...right in time I got my first pacific island hopping game going. After a week of preparation.

In the night before the game, I finished the second of my landing crafts for the Japanese.

And here are a few shots of the game.
The scenario saw the jaanese try to recapture the littke island from some bold resiting marines...
A mixture of Guadal Canal and Tarawa or so....;)

Was really fun to play. I had three games with disposable heroes and bolt action.

Have to paint a bigger sea mat.

In the next days I will try to get some shots of the troops.....:)

Cheers,
Don

That looks great.

Strip off the "modern" stuff and post it on the Frostgrave sub forum for Ghost Archipelago.

Nice looking sea as well.
