7th Voyage - My hopefully on going thread
« on: March 24, 2018, 03:39:54 PM »
So I've decided to start a Youtube channel to just get together with my friends and actually get some games played. The thought of doing a channel has really motivated me to get some painting done, as well as dig out games I love and haven't played for a while. So first up we've decided to give Crooked Dice's 7th Voyage a go.

We plan to play out the Gorgon scenario, so first up is the start of the heroic cast.

Perseus

5 Veterans (Including a Commander)

and lastly, 3 Warriors (armed with bows)

That just leaves the Pegasus for the heroes, and Medusa, 2 Giant Snakes and 4 Snake Swarms for the villains.

They will all get a nice basing once I nip to my local GW and get some mud paint.

Nice painting on those minis.

Thanks :) They've been fun to paint. Looking forward to doing the more monstrous minis soon.

I like them a lot! :-* Where are the minis from? I don’t recognise them. :?

Any plans for a board to go with them?

Thanks. They're all from the Mythic Battles board game.

Yeah I've got some sand print vinyl flooring to cut to size for the mat and I have a bunch of ruins, desert rocks and trees for the terrain. Just need to put it all together and see what's what, but should be enough for a nice set up in a ruined temple.

Handy to see some of the Pantheon models painted up and very nicely too. I'll keep track of this for future reference (when I eventually get around to painting mine). Also always nice to see 7th Voyage getting a shout-out :)

They paint up very nicely for the most part. PVC plastic has come a long way to hold detail. If you're interested in some some others, I've got a few in my Frostgrave bestiary here http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=106163.0 I think they've mostly turned out pretty well.

7th Voyage is a cracking game and one we've been meaning to pick up again for a while. When we were thinking about things to include in our channel, it was one of the top of the lists, so looking forward to getting it on the table again.

Thanks for the link - very handy! I somewhat dread having a go at the various animals as I've never been very good at painting fur/hair/scales/whatever. So, again, I'll be taking some inspiration from your pics as I'm better at copying than "original work" :)

I'd love to see pics of the baddies too, if possible. Lovely work on the heroes!

You want villains? Well how about the main baddie of the scenario herself? The Medusa!

More to come, and bases to be finished!

Looks decidedly more scary than the ancient Minifigs one I found in one of my storage boxes recently. I can't remember when I bought it, but it's distinctly naff!

The models are nice, and the paint jobs do them more than justice - especially Perseus.

That's a great Medusa. Another one for me to shamelessly copy :)
