Not my current genre but definitely lovely stuff.

Unfortunately, international shipping costs once again make this too impractical (or at the very least, expensive) a proposition for anyone outside the US.
Enjoying the game is ALWAYS more important than winning the game.

Interesting, but their choice of scale is a bit odd - most "28mm" modern vehicless are in the 1/50 - 1/48 scale range rather than 1/56.

This is because 28mm figures, especially on bases tend to tower over the vehicles.

Crooked Dice Minions and a Warlord CCKW.

Also look at the first photograph of the based infantry and the gun truck.

The thread creator makes some valid points here:

The prices are scary though.

I agree about the scale.
I would have liked them to be 1/48 or 1/50.

1/50 would be a more sensible scale but only because there’s already a decent amount of modern stuff in that scale.

1/56 only looks titchy if you are daft enough to place your figures on enormous great plinth like bases that add about a scale foot or so to the figure. :)

This (with little edits). Empress already does a M-ATV (after a quick search, MATV and JATV both fullfill the exact same role in the US army and only differ aesthetically) for a similar price (30£/44$ shipping included for Empress compared to 44$ shipping excluded for the KS one). I'd love to play a convoy of these, or use them as scenery for a FOB. And scale doesn't matter to me (I used to play some 1/72 planes/helicopters with my 1/64 and 1/56 vehicles, mixing without remorse 25mm and 28mm miniatures).
A word for miniatures, scenery and rules compulsive buying ? Zhobbyllness !

True.

However width is also an issue - unless you have a Perry proportioned figure, they would not fit in a 1/56 jeep.

If you put your vehicles on a base, they are not so small compared to the figures.

They do look nice. But a bit on the pricey side for me as I would essentially only use them as terrain.

In saying that, Empress and Spectre's stuff aren't as wide as other manufacturers. Oddly those companies chose to go with 1/50th rather than 1/56th however.

I prefer 1/56th, as anything larger just looks enormous. Among other issues, the the driver's feet can't reach the peddles unless they have bricks attached to their shoes make the soldiers look like children when placed next to 1/50th. Unfortunately that's the scale which most modern stuff has standardised on.

...Which begs the question why this Kickstarter's chosen to go with 1/56th instead of what the majority of complementary vehicles are scaled in. Unless they're fine with people mixing scales, though if that's the case then why bother going with the "proper" scale if things are going to look weird regardless?
