Hi James.Foundry Storm Green triad works best for me, and I use it on all sorts of things besides German uniforms.Example:Helmets were actually green (I'm sure you know this) and depend a bit on the period. Early war they were a colour referred to as 'Apple Green'. You can make a good impression of this by ising the Storm Green triad but starting with the 'B' middle tone, and using white to added to the highlight to make it a bit lighter for the highlight. Alternatively you could use the Moss Green triad for a bit more contrast and saturation. For later war helmets do the opposite - add black to the Storm Green shade to make it darker and work up so the middle tone is your highlight.Storm Green works for uniforms too btw, and you can vary by how much you highlight etc.
Brilliant picture, but no one ever mentions that those jackets aren't all from the same period :-)... but yes, almost anything will do. Ironically Vallejo Russian Uniform works well.
And apparently Vallejo English Uniform Brown.
Heh, indeed. I just see it posted lots in Bolt Action Fb groups as an excuse to use anything and my eye start twitching (clearly an OCD problem)
