Available arenas? (1.5" Hex if possible) - Gladiators

So, I've got some local guys interested in trying out Furt's BOTS rules - but I realized I've got the rules, custom dice, miniatures painted, etc...but I'm still gaming on a simple chopped up Chessex hex mat.

I have my gladiators based on 1.5" hex bases.  Since it's been a few years since I've dug into gladiator stuff - I'm asking to see if I've missed anything lately.  Any MDF manufacturers making hex-based arenas, etc?  I saw that the Playmobile arena is back, but that's well beyond what I'm looking for.

Anything "sexier" than a simple hex-mat at the moment?  Or will I be forced to make a better mousetrap? Thanks in advance folks.

I think you are looking at making your own.  You can get circles of 1/4 inch think cork, that give a nice surface at craft shops.  Making an outer facing is as simple or complex as you want it to be.  Figure sometihng at the esge of the Empire, so maybe a wooden faced area.

You can make your own areana floor very simply with hexes.  I made my own hex base using Warbases Hexes which would seem to fit your ideas.  See here:  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=61290.15

By the way I used the playmobil arean but with 54mm figures.

Have a word with Jimbibbly of OSHIROmodels he made me this one.

Its lasered acrylic and I just added the sand and painted it.
