The Wait is over - New Perry plastics for Salute
« on: March 29, 2018, 12:41:02 AM »
So let's speculate....what does everyone think the Perry Twins will unveil for Salute in the plastic range?

It has been speculated elsewhere that the Twins will unveil 2-3 boxes of forthcoming plastics at Salute, possibly focusing on Medieval and Napoleonic periods. This would be in addition to the release of their Nap Chasseurs a Cheval cavalry set (a must have!!!!!!!!!!!).

Given they have done a lot of Medievals already what is left to do? They have done plenty of infantry, and even some cavalry....so what is left to do? This is not my period - although I dabble - so I really don't know.

As for Napoleonic's, well the Chasseurs a Cheval are long overdue, and will be most welcome. I would guess that a box of plastic Portuguese might be a possibility, as the Warlord ones are not so good (I know, I have a box sitting collecting dust....  :'( ). I would also guess another box of cavalry, perhaps something for the Austrians, Russians, etc....although not sure if these would be big sellers compared to something British...like a box of heavy cavalry. Such a box could cover both early and later uniforms, with different torsos and heads. Just like the Perry's did for their Lt Dragoon box. Possible.

So again, what do all of you think the Perry brothers will unveil at Salute??? Let the speculation begin!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do they have a plastics box of British to counter the plastic Zulus? Seems like they tend to release opposing factions as plastics. I haven't been keeping track of Perry releases.

A box of Irish Americans would be the obvious choice for plastics.

The obvious (and lon) addition would be plastic cavalry set for their 1415-1429 range, which only contains infantry sets at the moment.

On the colonial front, some people would probably be happy to see plastic Pathans for Afganistan.

On the Napoleonics, I don't think they have done any artillery in plastic.

Perry Miniatures were kind enough to reply back to my email today with the following reply: 'Nothing planned plastic Afghan wise, although you never know'.

So its a no for now, maybe one day if we're lucky!

1415-1429 Mounted Men at Arms have already been promised about two years ago.
Given that the WOTR range has two sets of cavalry, I have no idea why the Agincourt cavalry have not appeared yet.

Little birds have pointed me in the renaissance direction. A new range like 30 years war perhaps.

ECW/TYW in plastic made by the Perrys would be great!
