40mm Trident Designs AWI
« on: April 18, 2018, 07:19:04 PM »
Trident Designs stuff painted as 2nd Maryland 1777 Flag by Maverick Models. I love these figures, good detail and Doug is a good guy to deal with. Only issue was at the UK end having to pay VAT and he ridiculous holding fee before Parcelforce would deliver. Ho Hum.

Doug is a very good bloke and quite a character.  From hells Angel to Church Preacher.
Trident have a certain style my only slight critism is that the faces occasionally can be a little heavy set for my taste. Many will prefer this as it adds a lot of depth
The tax does make them rather unaffordable in mass.
Maybe you could ask for The paperwork to be doctored as l am sure they will want to help.
They look good.
The Trident Indians are some of the best figs on the planet.

Gasp!  So tempted by this range. If only it didn't mean having to buy all of my terrain again in 40mm it'd be a no brainer!

You should bite the bullet.  40mm has far more impact and presence on a table . They take hardly anymore footprint on a table  but are twice as recognisable.
I use large 28mm buildings slightly raised  so most will be fine .
Take the plunge are you will be rewarded far more than 28mm.t

Not my size (prefer 28mm), but excellently done.

I particularly like the way you've kept the flagpole to a sensible (and historically accurate) size - no 16-foot pike staffs!

Cheers for the feedback. I'm using Trident Miniatures for the 15th foot. I like the Don Troiani illustration of the slop jacket, so I've painted a test figure. Just needed a bit of putty to form the stock and collar and works a treat. Just another 23 or so to go.
