Thanks for the description, but is there any chance of pictures of the steps? The effect is great and similar to an effect I've been wanting to get on my own models for some time, but when I try and read it I get lost about half way through.

Lovely stuff, especially as I’m also heading down the Chinese path for my own Pulp Alley experience.

Excellent! Did you make those?

Yep - I’ll start my own thread for the details so I don’t distract from Tin Shed’s brilliant work.

Thanks for sharing your roofing method. It really appeals to me as it sounds like an efficient way to course the tiles and gives a convincing result. That said, the painting has a big effect on the finished article and that is where, for me, it might all go wrong  :D

Andy,
Your in lucks way. I've another building that needs finishing with this style of roof. So I'll be able to fit a tutorial in this week . For you and anyone else who's interested,as it needs finishing for next weekend anyway.

Here's a building that's to be multi functional, and pop up in different roles(on account of my budget being small than my ideas :D)

It's colour scheme is designed to compliment existing buildings I have, rather than be just for this project.

Because Fram hit the nail on the head in another thread. This is making an appearance (once I've finished the third carriage /flat bed,and added some snow texture)

The whole campaign is taking the Kevin Costner approach to historical geography.
Just so I can use my submarine, sea plane, and even my airship. As I've been plodding along on and off for a couple of years building oddball bits and bobs so this campaign will have them all in for the hell of it.

I like it. I remember reading about those steam powered half track things. Apparently the driver had to sit right at the front and they had a very short life expectancy, being crushed or thrown under the wheels fairly frequently. Now the poor driver will have to add being shot at to his problems...

Day light bulbs have played havoc with the terrace building pictures not as green and white as it looks  :( its actually much closer to the last building.

You missed out set on fire. lol the later engines had a sentry box construction for the driver.
As some of these made their way to Russia ,I'm taking the liberty of having one way down South.
There's to be four games (so far) Airfield, harbour, Tundra ,Hill country.(not necessarily in that order.
If these go well, then there's an odd ball 'What about the map?' Final game that'll involve my biggest toy as scenery (but that's for another day ;))
For the Airfield I've pretty much everything made already.Only the last of the leagues to sculpt .Here's a couple of bits from that set up.
Also the harbour game is pretty much ready. Submarine, sea plane,Tramp steamer needs knock up(unless I can convince my son to lend me the one I made him)
The tundra game focus is the land train. So pretty much done there.(just requires a plane on skis/skids (less than a 15 hour build.)Airboats for vehicles.
Roman buildings are done for the hill country

It's now a case of fitting the figures in and painting.

I really like the plane and 'control tower'. Are they scratch built?
