Durham Wargames Group L'Art de la Guerre Tournament
« on: March 30, 2018, 01:39:12 PM »
A recent jaunt to Burton for my first tournament in many years (since Field of Glory killed off DBM - I disliked FoG and so dropped off the scene) was somewhat successful as John ans I took home a solid win!

We'd used John's Tamil army and inspired by it I bought my own for our DWG 2018 club tournament.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.  It is by the juice of Typhoo the thoughts acquire speed, the teeth acquire stains, the stains serve as a warning.  It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Battle 1: Tamils vs. Achaemenid Persians

I took my Tamils against the Persians, and things went quite well.

The Tamils are a risky army with really only one tactic, "get stuck in and hope for the best".  So far, its worked out pretty well.

Battle 2: Tamils vs Early Carthage

I'd actually planned to take an Alexandrian army for this bash but after a hectic work week I didn't get a chance to sort one out so took the Tamils again.  Carthage shook to the rumble of elephants...

Not a tournament match tonight but instead a historical matchup between the Sleeucids and Tigranes the Great's Armenians.

It was a interesting battle.

Great! :D

Would love a similar event here, but historical wargaming isn't a favourite :(

Another couple of the friendly matches played this week: Armenians vs Classical Indiands, and Visigoths vs Samurai
