This is how it's looking so far. Going to drybrush a lighter sand color over sand and paint base, add desert trees, cacti and shrubbery.
Finish the camper and building, and stuff

LOVE that movie. I can't look at these photos without automatically making the "swish swish" noise the giant ants make every time they appear in the movie.

one of my all time favorite movies...trivia, did you know the color budget was cut by the studio head (he thought sci-fi was stupid) after the ants and the intro word "them" were colored...leading to the movie becoming a cult classic...the main actress thought the ants were pretty and when she went to the premier and saw them in black and white she said they scared the hell out of her...all because one man didn't like science fiction

try this for thought
a 2" to 6" cone with an opening for the hive entrance, couple rocks at the bottom edge with some bones and a gun belt...just a thought

Oh Gun Bunny, GREAT idea! Thanks! Doing it. I have thousands of 54mm skeleton warriors to get bones from. Alao have a belt and holster (from a mpc ringhand sprue)
And i just acquired a general figure, flamethrowers wearing fire suits, and bazooka men.
Thanks, guys, for not pointing out the '57 Chevy error.
Mako, they are actually rubber puzzles, that fit together like Gundam models (ie joints, so they are fully articulated) and they come in a realistic egg case,
.
Pm me for link to Ebay seller
Thank you guys. I just recieved my 1953 Ford Custom die cast car ill paint as a cop car
