Triumph of Death
« on: March 31, 2018, 04:16:09 PM »

I painted some of these for a client and thought they were really nice figures.  I don't go for kickstarters but they are available for sale from the company now.

There is a decent amount of detail on them but I also like that they are mostly skeletons without a ton of detail packed into them.

A simple and yet remarkably well done figure line.

They are pretty solidly built too, unlike some skeletons.  You don't need to worry about them breaking.

I look forward to painting some more.

Glad you guys liked them.

I am running a Necromunda league now that ends in May and then I have a big 30K game for Historicon so I'll probably buy some of these around July and they will be my after Historicon project.  I'll probably use them to run a Malign Portents campaign for AoS, even though that already ended there is a lot of cool stuff in the book.

Quite reminiscent of the old Valley of the 1980's Games Workshop line the Valley of the Four Winds miniatures (but then I'm dating myself) :

In that picture of the bell war machine thing, I'd be annoyed if it didn't have crew pushing it.  However, I'm somehow not annoyed that the crew that is pushing it is somehow doing it without muscles.

Valley of the Four Winds also had a skeleton carrying a basket with skulls, and a wagon (driven by a skeleton, pulled by a skeletal horse) loaded with bones, as well as armed skeletons - this may have been one of the first fantasy miniatures lines of undead.  I think a lot of the imagery is based on the same Dance of Death imagery that inspired the Triumph of Death line.   In the link below, the FFW material is at second half of the page.
