Anyone figure out if those heads are separate?

Those helmets could fit Frenchies and other denizens!!!

Given their current recruitment problems, the Bundeswehr’s Future Soldier project is aptly titled in the singular form. He or she should have a veritable surfeit of new kit though. :)

All of Empress' Modern range to my knowledge have separate heads (at least its been that way with everything I've ordered). Its the older Chechen Wars stuff which they didn't commission which don't.

I'd imagine that the heads will be up for sale on their own, as they have done with most of their other modern lines.

Thanks, that explains it

I did notice attachment points on the sides of the helmets for add on armour. As shown they would be vulnerable to fragments etc.

These figures are certainly not Special Forces... or Sci Fi..... ;)
They are what we called in the 'eighties "Ultramodern", you know FAVs, LAV-75s, G11s etc

I do not remember fitting heads to the PLA so far:

No sign of greenstuff repairs around the neck ^__^.

As Wymalia says, most of the others come with separate heads so we shall see.

Anyone know the current german platoon organisation?
Probably depends on their transport. Empress imply a six man squad (which from the source below suggests a possible Marder).

Sangin Dispatches 1 has:
PHQ - four men plus optional two man support element (ATGW or sniper).
Three vehicles.
If the vehicles are Boxers,  two four man teams with NCO, grenadier, MG4 and rifleman/loader.

If the vehicle is a Marder, one six man squad, NCO, grenadier, MG4, panzerfaust 3 and two riflemen.

The above matches the Empress suggested organisation.

6 men is a little slender for taking casualties. Only 3 Marders in a platoon?

Carlos would have that as a much higher part of the TOE, brigade or higher ^__^

Four Marders - platoon HQ in a Marder plus three squads in Marders.

Theoretically a Marder has three crew and seven dismounts, but one is tucked up front - so I guess they use the seat for storage.

As I said, that organisation is from Dispatches one. Team Yankee has five Marders in the box but that is probably an older organisation.

It may be 7 on paper? Russia's had 7 men motor rifle squads for decades, though that doesn't cover the guys sitting on the roof... Meanwhile the Ukrainians have 6 men motor rifle squads, with the same vehicles, perhaps due to them carrying heavier arms than a Russian squad (again, on paper).

The 7th man in the German section may be the squad leader, sitting up front with the vehicle's crew? I assume that none of the vehicle crew are dismounts (like say on the BRDM-2M, where its expected an element leave the vehicle for recce)?

Empress may come out with some German vehicles, but for the moment only SASM comes to mind for making modern German stuff (unless the Germans are using foreign IFVs?). They have a Boxer in 1/50th. http://www.kingshobbiesandgames.com/28mm-Boxer-IFV-p/28mmboxerifv.htm

With the figures being IdZ, probably the Boxer and the Puma are the only vehicles that are correct (a brief wander through Wikipedia showed no TOE with Marders - YMMV).

Back in the past they did have M113s, Tankograd has three books on Bundeswehr M113s.

Wikipedia has the Puma as three crew and six dismounts, probably the same loadout as Dispatches One.

Some lighter vehicles would be nice.

Did a little bit of digging. And found that they should also work for some updated Spanish, Montenegrin, Kosovo Security Force, Latvian, and Lithuanian Land Force troops.
Also the new Mexican army rifle has a descent passing resemblance to the G36, but with different internals. So could be stand ends for near future Mexican army or Marines.

I looked up the Bermuda Regiment and it seems that they ditched the idea of picking up the G36 and went with the L85A2 for cost and because the Germans had decided to replace them.

My intention is getting some minis to use them precisely as Spanish. I'd like to get a fire team or a squad just to see how adaptable they are, but I guess that they'll work fine with minor conversions.
