Conflict in Jakalistan
« on: April 01, 2018, 10:53:33 AM »
While details are sketchy, there have been reports in the last hour of gun fire at the presidential palace in Mahbren, the capital of Jakalistan.

Never heard of Jakalistan? Neither had I, so I did a quick Google search online and only found a brief blog post on its flags:
https://donnerundblitzenwargaming.blogspot.com.au/2018/03/flags-of-jakalistan.html

Flag of the Republic of Jakalistan (1991 - present)

It's expected as journalists enter the country, photos and reports will emerge of the factions involved as this conflict develops.

This is of course the setting for a fictional campaign in the Central Asian imagination of Jakalistan. Three of us are using it as a backdrop to get our 15mm Cold War/modern miniatures on the table. We'll be using a simplified version of v3 Flames of War, utilising platoons from the AIW and Vietnam books. RPGs will have a higher AT, and tanks will be limited to a platoon per side. Eventually we'll be bringing in equipment from the Team Yankee source books (costed and stated to fit v3) as the outside world sends "aid" (anything from medical assitance to military hardware and fighters).

Your are off to a good start.
But being April Fool's day,
do we know if this country exists? ;)

Reports of a foreign back insurgency designed to destabilise Jakalistan and its President have been greatly exaggerated.

Here is photographic evidence of loyal troops, lavishly equipped with rpg18s and btr50s, ready to fight for the rightful President.

I would like to add a few tufts to the bases and do some battle damage on the btrs but otherwise happy with how they look so far

Two more platoons (or companies? I can’t remember how Fow organised things) of basic infantry ready to fight.

Once again Eureka modern Russians but I went with a real mixed bag of camo, some of which came out better than others haha.
