Bit of threadmancy (how apt...)
In case anyone wanted dome details of what the inside of an English Box Tomb looks like, I have,just been involved with the careful dismantling of this one
Originally constructed around 1810, possibly rebuilt twice and in a perilous state in a public churchyard.
No bones, but evidence of fragments of another tomb used in one of the rebuilding phases.
The lowest levels, being recorded prior to removal. The original vault beneath this stonework had been filled in under a previous rebuilding phase.
Even a Smooth Newt to add to the mix (in the safe hands of the appointed Ecologist).
