« on: April 02, 2018, 11:02:47 AM »
He everyone
I have quite a few AB ancient Greeks for peloponesian wars and am wondering what other ranges may be compatible in terms of size...
Any assistance is welcome
Cheers

Never seen them side by side, but Xyston might be a good match. They are tall for 15mm - more like 16-18mm.

I have mixed in an element or two of AB cavalry with my Xyston. AB have slightly smaller horse and slightly larger riders (!). But they seem to mix in (they're all unpainted at the moment).

I have a large Greek army. The majority are AB, but I have a few Xyston mixed in. The Xyston figures are slightly smaller but the size of the shields are notably smaller and in a wall of shields it looks a bit odd if you mix them. It also doesn't help that some of the AB are closer to 20mm.

I mainly used Xyston in separate units and for command bases.

This pic have Xyston peltasts in front of some AB hoplites.

Not sure if Blue Moon has greeks but they size well with AB.

This link has some good photos which compare the War & Empire range with various other manufacturers.  It may at least give you a general idea of sizes/compatibility across the ranges.
