Really impressive painting.

I'm not so sure about the miniatures themselves.
I can't quite get to why I don't really like them as much as I think I should.
I've heard so many good things about Footsore miniatures, but I remain...underwhelmed.

It's not the quality of sculpting. That seems as good as anyone else.
I think it's the style.
Some I like, but most leave me thinking, 'oh...'
A bit too caricatured, a bit too cartoony.

But great painting - I'm not criticising that.

Early Saxons was one of their first incursions in Dark Ages, when they were Musketeer Miniatures. Later releases are more realistic. Their Vikings and Late Saxons have a more natural look.
