How did you do them?

For the colour I used a dark turquoise mixed with my base skin colour. I started by painting lines, some parallel around the arms and some along the arm following the curve. I then filled in the lines using a mix of triangles, lines and hashes. If you look close enough it's a bit of a mess but at this scale it's unlikely you'd see much detail any way. What's important is to give the impression of a tattoo and add detail to the model.

For the stones I applied a basecoat of dark grey (german grey vmc), followed lighter greys using a kind of stippling motion, with each colour applied to a smaller area. I used quite thick paint for this. The skulls I went with a typical beige basecoat, brown wash, bone highlight. The dust/earth was added by loading up a flat brush with brown pigment and tipping this onto selected parts of the base. This was then fixed into place using pigment fixer.

The blending here is insane; on the orc armor and the dwarven beards.

It looks almost airbrushed it's so good. And the tattoos? Wow.

Amazing, bravo!
