Dark Ages Terrain
« on: April 08, 2018, 09:00:24 AM »
The weather is shit and I have a desire to do some terrain building.
Perfect combination.

So, come on, show me some of your favourite dark ages terrain to help get my juices flowing.
It could be anything - a hill, a wood, a building, an ancient burial chamber.
ANYTHING.
I don't care. So long as it's dark ages/early medieval themed.

I must say that I am trying to think of a way of doing 'rocky ground' without just a piece of wood with some stones on it. Some ruins of some kind is how I'm thinking.

But just show me anything. If you've used it in your game and people have said, 'that looks great' or maybe something you've seen whilst scouring the interwebatron...let's see it!

I'm sure others would appreciate some themed eye-candy to help inspire.

A very realistic piece of terrain, well done!

Here's a couple of mine.

The Hall I just can't bring myself to finish as the authentic scheme is just too loud and unreal for modern taste So I've down brushes on it.

The farmstead is one of mine (although not the painting,my castings are in a box somewhere in my workshop)

Mark.

I did make some ruins in the end.
To keep it themed to the period I printed out some panels from the Bayeux Tapestry as if they were a fresco on the interior walls.

Keep your dark ages themed terrain coming!

Your Dark Ages ruin looks great- the Bayeux Tapestry wall paper is an excellent idea.

Thirded, that Bayeux Tapestry wallpaper is an amazing idea, I may have to steal it. Really impressive.

All around great terrain in fact - will be following this keenly.
