This is certainly one of the best builds I have seen so good in fact it makes one want to give up. Anyone who gets to game with that as terrain will be very fortunate indeed.

Don't give up!!  All you need is time and inspiration (and an tolerant other half if applicable!) ;)

The only thing I've got that makes thing easier is my lasercutter (Which is almost cheating!) which is good for repetitive tasks and fiddly bits.

The Reichstag would be difficult without the laser cutter, you could make it from foamcore but it would take a lot longer.

The ancillary buildings, however, don't need the laser.  They take about 2 hours all in - can do a how-to if there is an interest - with some foamcore, some MDF, some corrugated craft paper and some glue you can easily make similar.  Only the windows on the barrel roofed building and the front props on the tin shed are laser cut.

Due to a change of circumstances (A good one!) the Reichstag building will be up for sale at the end of the year.

Thank you for the motivation. Time and money are sadly always issues. Gosh I can't believe you are willing to part with it - no doubt you will get some play out of it first and also get a good price for it.

I'd prefer to keep it really but for the sake of domestic bliss it has to go lol

It wouldn't get used very often in reality.

Once this s complete you need to do a "drone" style video fly round and some panorama rotatable ones - the full Great Devourer StreetView (TM).

Rich, you are an absolute madman! And I mean that is the best way possible. A totally stunning build.

Once done, I would send a picture of the model to the German company that built the laser cutter. I think they would be incredibly touched to see what someone did with their product.

A truly fantastic project :) - I hope we get to see the layout in its entirety, preferably with a game going on before you sell it on.

Thanks all!

It's a Chinese company that made the laser cutter - the Germans omnly provided a replcement laser tube ;) (And that was Chinese too!)

Test layout
Don't mind the blue! I need to add another building between the Reichstag and the fountain.  There will be a road on both sides.

Thd cloth will be grey felt with brown paint and a shed load of loose scatter.
