Trench inserts - finally!
« on: May 09, 2009, 09:54:10 AM »
The product I have hoped for seems finally to have arrived. I always thought it looks a bit silly with the raised trenches you will get if you buy a commercial set of trenches. The best solution would be if you cut your own trenches in foam or EPS and then had an insert that would "decorate" the interior of trench instead of having to scrathbuild it. I hope this product will be on the market soon. Barry Carter is our man!

I just got a response from Barry:

"All I can say is that I have been re-locating the casting to Thailand and that it is all taking longer than expected.

However I expect to have some stock fairly soon and will keep Wabforum members updated asap

thanks very much for your interest, If you are in the UK ,I expect to have some stock with me at the bovington tank museum show on the 6/7th July

All the best

Barry"

How deep are they?  I wasn't sure from the website pictures and description.

If we take the product TR2 200mm Plank wall/firestep:

Height 42mm from bottom to top. Height when standing on the fire step is 30mm
Length 200mm (as stated)
Depth 38mm, including the firestep which is around 20mm

Did I answer your question?

That's great - thanks exactly waht I wanted to know.

At 42mm high they might be a bit big for my usual 40mm deep TSS tiles - I was thinking of getting some to use initially for Crimean skirmish games and later for WW1.
