Sorry I missed you Tom - I was there for six hours, but seem to have missed lots of people I know!
I agree it seemed darker than ever in there. The lighting really is awful. Don't know there's anything they can do about it, but it's a constant refrain every year, and seems to be getting worse not better
But I thought the standard of display games on offer was much improved compared to the last couple of years, with a good number of eye candy worthy tables, including several stand-outs.
And I only spotted one bright green Subbuteo-cloth game this year. (Although there were a few deserty games that appeared to be on blankets / dustsheets of various descriptions... A bit lame
)
