Dr. Zombies African conflicts
« on: April 16, 2018, 02:16:28 PM »
I have shown most of this in my thread on the workbench. But I thought it deserved a propper thread of its own. So here goes. Ever since Blackhawk Down I have been wanting to do some african gaming. So I have set out to make enough terrain for that. I has been a slow process. But then I tried out a game of Spectre Operations and everything fell in place and my pace quickened.

I started out with painting some militia types. I already have a bunch of US Marines painted up.

Then some African army regulars.

Some support

And some scenery.

A lot of scenery in fact. I will be posting some more pics of it all as I get some propper pictures taken.

Nice job.

I love the cable details on the buildings.

Are some of the technicals Mantic TWD ones?

Yes the technicals are from The Walking Dead. They are magnetised, so the gun can turn and I can remove it.

Here are some pictures of some more buildings.

Also I made these tents and various scatter.

And I have made a "modern upgrade roof" for a house I buildt some time ago to use for a Mychenean gaming project. But with the new roof I can use it for modern gaming.

The roof is loose and goes on the old house.

I just finished this arms dealer table. It is not the Bakara market exactly but a gun dealer has to start somewhere.

While reading the Blackhawk down book I noticed that around Mogadishu the inhabitants had trash holes where they gathered all their trash and burned it when the hole was full. The Rangers jumped into those holes to get some cover. I figured they would make a nice piece of scenery, so here is my first version of a trash hole.

I figure you can never have to manny walls when doing modern gaming so I have set about creating a lot of walls to make compounds and other walled in areas with. Here is the lot of them.

Comming later some pictures of the Marine Task force.

I really like the breeze blocks on some of your buildings, where did they come from?

Brilliant!
 8) 8)

Those 'trash holes' are a handy little feature, aren't they?
Never heard of that before.
 :)

Love the add on roof.
I am doing the same to make my buildings more versatile.
Must be the 'Great Minds' thing at work again.
 ;)

Actually I donít think I will be doing more of the roofs as the amount of work is almost the same as doing a full building.

I had not heard of trash holes before either. But I thought them nice (but quite nasty) pieces of cover to scatter about the place.

I have storage issues, though, mate.
Not all of us can live in huge palaces.

Careful, though, as you already have a reputation for being Lord of the Dungheap, adding trash holes is only a natural expansion I suppose...

Here are some pictures of the US Marines designated to fight the local milita. These have been shown before but got lost in space in the great Photobucket debackle. But I thought they could get another turn in the spotlight now that they have some opponents and some ground to fight over.

Fireteam one. Two men with M16A4s, one with a M27 with underslung grenade launcher and one with a M249 SAW

Fireteam two. Three men with M16A4 and one with a M27.

Fireteam three. Three men with M16A4 and one with M249 SAW riding in a Humwee with a Mk. 19.

Fireteam four. Three men with M16A4 one with underslung Grenade launcher and one man with M27. Riding in a Humwee with a .50 cal.

Support weapons. One M249 SAW, one M39 enhanced marksman rifle one M240 LMG
