Out of the mouths of babes

Have just been sat painting with my 5 year old daughter when she's asks "when did you start painting?"
So I duly inform her my grandparents got me some paints and wood elves for Christmas when I was eleven.
Completely deadpan she replies "you would have to be careful of splinters"
I took me a minute to realise she took the literal meaning of wood elves!!!
I don't think I will be able to look at the pointy eared gits in the same way
