another TYW comparison post (Avanpost, Tercios, Northstar)

(1/1)

chema1986:
Hi mates, I bought me some new figures and wanted to share some comparison pics with you, you have them in my blog too:
http://spanishleadpainting.blogspot.com.es/2018/04/some-xvii-century-review-comparison.html

Tercios Miniatures (metal)  and Avanpost Miniatures (resin)

and although not TYW,  also a Northstar 1672 dragoon, with a Avanpost horse arquebusier.

these 3 brands have excellent details and I recommend all of them for several reasons:
1) Tercios, well researched, sculpted and specifically  Spanish and Dutch.

2) Avanpost, one of the best sculpted 28mm miniatures ever made IMHO, and very good prices.

3) North Star 1672, the only company which make specific 1665-1680 miniatures today, superb sculpts, good service and price.

Regards!

Paul Richardson:
Personally, I think the Avanpost figures match the Tercios Dutch better than the Tercios Spanish. I agree that the Avanpost figures are beautifully sculpted and I intend to buy some more of them at some stage when I've worked out what I will do with them. I'm not so keen on the Tercios Spanish, to be honest. I was hoping that the Avanpost figures might go quite well with the new Bohemian Troops figures.

robh:
Good comparisons, the Avanpost figures are lovely.
Another recommendation on the Tercios range is the number of personality and unique figures amongst it. The Religious pack is lovely.

Codsticker:
I like the look of those Avanpost miniatures.

Yes, Avanpost TYW and Bohemian are my favourite TYW miniatures so far :)
