Battle of Soggy Bottom at Salute '18
« on: April 18, 2018, 05:36:13 PM »
Here are some shots of the two ECW games that Andrew Brentnall and I put on at Salute on Sunday, to celebrate the recent launch of our "For King and Parliament" rules.

There are lots more pics and some information about the units and models on my blog at:-

Best, Simon

They look great...you wouldn't know that the lighting was so poor at salute in these shots...

Off to play my first game of FK&P tonight

Beautiful troops, scenery & photographs. I hope the rules are as nice, as I got Vodkafan (who saw it in person) to buy me a copy.

Thanks chaps.

The lighting was somewhat Stygian, Eric, but I assume my photographer chum Ian went with a very long exposure.  :-)

Wow, that looks brilliant. They look like Bicorne figures?

Hi Elk, a little over 90% Bicorne (I am very taken with Bicorne), with up to 10% Renegade and Redoubt. I plan to add some 1st Corps minis too; they are compatible in size.

Wonderful, and all in very high standard painted. Wish my stuff had this high level.

I played the game and bought the rules!  lol
I think they may be a natural progression from Pikeman's Lament for our little group.

I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

Super vodkafan! :-)  Yes I'm hoping that people who have bought skirmish forces will extend them into armies.

I should say that I've bought most of the minis painted and had others painted to match. I think only one unit was entirely painted by me (and far from the best one!), although I part-painted several.  I did, though, rebase every mini on my special wobbly-edges bases.

Thanks, Bicorne are very nice figures. Most of mine are Renegade but the mounted command and personalities are all Bicorne. I find some of the Renegade pikemen a little small in comparison to the shotte so may (eventually) get more Bicorne pike.

The bases on the Renegade shotte are quite thick, maybe file them down?  It's great how the larger ranges can be combined- the new 1st Corps fit in well, too.

Very nice setup, How do the bicorne and renegade and redoubt figures match size with Assault Group renaissance figures?  And also, that town is quite impressive, what buildings and makers are used for it?
